The Legends

Legends are not voted in - they are matched. When a documented car meets a published criteria set, it becomes a Legend automatically. No nominations, no judges, no fees.

No Legends match this filter yet - the criteria are published and waiting.

How a car becomes a Legend

1
Document the car

Specs and provenance fields on the car page are the only input.

2
The criteria run automatically

Every published criteria set is a checklist, not a contest. Match it and the car is in - Provisional the moment the specs line up.

3
Verified follows the paperwork

When documentation confirms the specs, the tier flips from Provisional to Verified.

Published criteria

1964–1966 · Pontiac GTO · Tri-Power
Matching: full matching · Docs accepted: phs letter / build sheet / window sticker / marque equivalent
The engine that started it all: the 389 with three deuces, the original GTO weapon before GM banned multi-carb induction for 1967. Numbers-matching, documentation on file.
1969-1970 GTO Ram Air IV
1969–1970 · Pontiac GTO · Ram Air IV
Matching: full matching · Docs accepted: phs letter / build sheet / raiv certification
Ram Air IV in any GTO: rarer than the Judge badge that usually accompanied it. Full matching numbers with documentation.

1969–1970 · Pontiac GTO Judge · Ram Air III
Matching: full matching · Docs accepted: phs letter / build sheet / marque equivalent
The Judge as most were ordered: the 366 hp Ram Air III. Numbers-matching, PHS-documented examples anchor the Judge registry.
1969-1970 GTO Judge Ram Air IV
1969–1970 · Pontiac GTO Judge · Ram Air IV
Matching: full matching · Docs accepted: phs letter / build sheet / raiv certification
The apex GTO: the round-port Ram Air IV under Judge trim — 370 underrated horsepower and only a few hundred built per year. Full matching numbers with PHS or RAIV documentation.
1973-1974 Trans Am Super Duty 455
1973–1974 · Pontiac Trans Am · Super Duty 455
Matching: full matching · Docs accepted: phs letter / build sheet / marque equivalent
The last true muscle car: the SD-455 Trans Am, built in tiny numbers while the rest of the industry surrendered. Full matching numbers with PHS documentation.
Think a criteria set is missing - an option package, a homologation run, a one-year engine? Propose the criteria, not a car. If it is published, every matching car becomes a Legend automatically - including cars whose owners never asked.
